General Information
TARC 2023 is a research conference in accounting with a PhD-colloquium and paper presentations, which is organized by Linnaeus University (Sweden) in collaboration with Kiel University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania), University of Lodz (Poland) and Jönköping University (Sweden).
The aim of the conference is to bring researchers together from different countries and to discuss the latest trends and issues related to accounting. We are looking forward to warmly welcome all participants from around the world to Kalmar the 4th – 6th of October 2023.
The conference is a three-day event which starts with a PhD-colloquium the first day from 9-13. This part is dedicated entirely to young researchers and emerging scholars. The second part of the first day and the second day are dedicated to the main sessions. The main sessions will be divided into two categories, one is for full papers, and one is for papers-in-progress. When you submit your paper, please clarify which category you intend your paper for. During the third day of the conference a specially arranged company visit is offered for the participants
Conference Topics
Major topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Auditing, Accounting Education, Accounting History, Accounting and International Capital Markets, Financial Analysis and Reporting, Global Accounting and IFRS, Corporate Governance, Accounting Information Systems, Data Analytics and Extensive Business Reporting Language (XBRL), Management Accounting and Control, Public Sector and Nonprofit Accounting, Taxation, Sustainability Accounting and Reporting, Performance Environmental Accounting, Accounting and Public Finance and other related topics.
Promising papers will be given the opportunity to submit to special issues in Baltic Journal of Management and Management Accounting Frontiers.
PhD Colloquium and Workshop
We strongly encourage PhD-students and their supervisors to submit work in progress for presentation and to receive quality feedback from an appointed international reviewers and from the participants in the colloquium. The workshop for papers-in-progress offers an opportunity to receive feedback on research in various stages
Review and Awards
All submitted papers will be reviewed by an international scientific committee before getting accepted to the conference. The best paper awards of the conference will be given to the best paper in the PhD-colloquium and in the main conference.
Company Visit and City Tour
A short city tour to the historical sites of Kalmar will be offered. The conference organizers have arranged a company visit to a best practice company in the region. The visit will include company tour, lunch and presentation by company executives of leading accounting practice used. There will be a Q&A after the presentation.
